STUCK?

As I went through this course and learned about writing, there were many points where I found myself stuck. Writers block can happen for many reasons and at some point, weather you are writing for fun or as a profession it will happen to you. A few of the reasons I found myself with writers block were, not having inspiration to write, so reading about the project ahead of me and just not having anything pop into my mind. Another reason was that on that day, or for that hour, I wasn't in the mood to write, my mind was somewhere else, I wanted to be elsewhere but I had to get it done. The last reason for my writers block was, as I tried to write some of the longer assignments and I didn't write with a plan, and I simply ran out of ideas for the assignment.

There are some definite strategies for avoiding and overcoming writers block. One of these strategies is to use your resources, so if you are writing on a computer, don't be afraid to use the internet, watch some you-tube videos, or look up pictures that will help you. I find that this will not only give you inspirations and new ideas, but it will give your mind a little break from the work and when you get back to writing you will be fresh.

Another strategy to avoid writers block is to start with a good brain storming session. So before you start, grab a pen and paper and jot down some ideas, they don't have to be fully formed ideas, but just a few points that will help you along down the road. The last idea i can offer to you is, if you really are stuck and the ideas just aren't flowing, get up and go for a little walk, get some fresh air and clear your head of the project all together. When you sit back down, you will be fresh and in a different place mentally, hopefully, ready to write.
